Sun Spot Mini or the Sun Spots set of 4
One small crystal for the desk, or four for the whole flat? Prices, uses and when each option makes sense, with the large Sun Spot XXL included.
Updated · Tomáš Sokol
Picture two homes. In the first lives Anna, who works from home and spends most of the day in one room at a desk with a computer. In the second lives a family of four: the children run between the living room and their bedroom, and the parents sit in their own room in the evening. Both households want Sun Spots, but each needs something different. Anna is happy with one crystal by the monitor, while the family wants the whole flat looked after.
That's the decision this guide is about. The Sun Spot Mini and the Sun Spots set of 4 come from the same range of pieces Tachyon makes for the room. They differ in the number of pieces, their size and how much space you want to cover.

What they have in common
All Sun Spots are tachyonized crystals that sit in a room and never need switching on or charging. Tachyon says in its product descriptions on the Planet Tachyon shop that Sun Spots are crystal tools that create a coherent, balanced energy throughout the space. The principle is the same at every size. The difference is how much space each one is meant to cover.
Think of speakers. A small speaker on the desk is fine while you work. If you want music through the whole flat, you put a few speakers in different rooms. The Mini is the small one on the desk; the set is the speakers around the home.
When to choose the Sun Spot Mini
The Mini suits you when you want to look after one particular spot. Usually that's the desk where you spend eight hours a day, or the bedside table. It also works in a studio flat, where the whole home is more or less one room.
It's a sensible first step, too. If you don't know Sun Spots yet and want to try them, the Mini at $298.85 is the most affordable way in. The crystal is small, so it makes an easy gift and fits in any home. More gift ideas are in the gift finder.
When to choose the set of 4
The set is made for a whole space. Tachyon calls it its number one choice for the home. People spread the four crystals around the living room, in the corners for example, or put one in each of four rooms.
Go for the set if you live in a flat or house with several rooms, if you're moving and setting up from scratch, or if you want to look after a room that lots of people pass through, such as an office or a studio. At this price the SOKOL coupon makes a real difference, saving you more than $160.
And the Sun Spot XXL
There's a third route between the Mini and the set. The Sun Spot XXL is one large crystal, 80 mm across, for $1,875.48. It suits people who want one striking piece at the centre of the living room or a meditation room rather than four smaller ones. An even larger XXXL can be ordered to size. You'll find both in the Sun Spots category.
How to decide
The simplest question is how many rooms you want to cover. One small room: the Mini. The whole flat: the set. One large crystal as the centrepiece of a room: the XXL.
If you're also thinking about a disk under the pillow or on your phone, the kit builder shows how the whole set-up adds up and when you reach free delivery. You can also compare Sun Spots with other products on the comparison page.
Price and coupon
You can buy both from Planet Tachyon, the maker's European shop, which ships from its warehouse in the Netherlands. With the code SOKOL you get 10% off, one coupon per order. The steps are on the coupon page, and delivery and VAT for Europe and the UK are on the shipping page.
Questions on this topic
- Is it cheaper to buy four Minis than the set?
- Four Sun Spot Minis would cost $1,195.40, and the set of 4 costs $1,652.84 (prices checked 28 October 2026). The Mini is a smaller version of the crystal, though, so they aren't the same pieces. For a whole flat, Tachyon recommends the set.
- Can I start with one Mini and move to the set later?
- Yes. The Mini stays on your desk or in the bedroom, and the set covers the rest of the flat. Plenty of people go this way.
- When does the Sun Spot XXL make sense?
- When you want one large, striking piece in the middle of a room instead of several smaller ones. The XXL costs $1,875.48 and is in the Sun Spots category.
- Does the SOKOL coupon work on both?
- Yes, the code SOKOL gives you 10% off the whole order, one coupon per order. If you buy a Mini and the set together, the discount applies to both.
