Micro Disk 35 mm, one-sided

In the evening you sit on the bed, switch off your phone, and rest a small disk about the size of a jam jar lid in your palm. One side faces you, the other has a tiny printed label. That's how a lot of people use the 35 mm micro disk: a few minutes in the hand while meditating, then on the bedside table, and in the morning taped to a T-shirt.

What it is

The 35 mm micro disk is the middle size in the manufacturer's range. It's bigger than the 24 mm micro disk that people stick on their phones, and smaller than the 7.5 cm silica disk, which is more at home on a fuse box or under a water jug. It's a thin silica wafer sealed in a protective laminate, roughly the size of a big winter coat button.

The manufacturer sells it as the Directional 35mm Micro-Disk. "Directional" explains the main difference from the 24 mm disk: this one is one-sided. The side Tachyon considers active carries the words "Energy flows out this side". According to the manufacturer, the energy comes out of that side, a bit like light from a torch pointed in one direction. So when you attach it, it matters which way it faces.

How people use it

On clothing. Tape the disk to a T-shirt or vest with paper or fabric tape, active side towards your body. The manufacturer doesn't recommend sticking it on bare skin, and a layer of cotton in between is enough. In the evening, peel it off and put it on the bedside table.

By the bed. Put the disk on the bedside table or tape it to the headboard at head height, label facing you. People who also have a large silica disk often keep the small one by the bed and the big one in the kitchen.

During meditation. Hold the disk in your palm, active side towards your hand, or rest it on your chest while lying down. The manufacturer mentions meditation directly for this disk, and it sits in the hand better than the smaller 24 mm one.

On smaller devices. For a tablet, router, or small speaker where a 7.5 cm disk wouldn't fit, tape the 35 mm disk on with ordinary tape, label towards the device.

Who it suits

The 35 mm micro disk suits people who want a disk with them and like to move it around: on a T-shirt in the morning, on the bedside table at night. It's big enough not to get lost in a bag and small enough for a shirt pocket.

Choosing a size

For a phone, the 24 mm disk is the better choice, since it's double-sided and flat. For clothing, the bedside table, and meditation, go for the 35 mm. Care

Wipe the disk with a dry cloth, don't bend it, and don't peel off the laminate. If it cracks, leave it sealed, since the laminate holds the pieces together. Tape on clothing wears out over time, so replace it every now and then. Details are in the guide Caring for silica disks.
