SOKOLHow people use it
- Stuck to the back of a phone or phone case.
- On a tablet, a cordless phone, or another small handheld device.
- In a wallet or pocket, so it's with you all day.
- Held in the palm during a short meditation.
Who it suits
- You want Tachyon with you all day without having to think about it.
- You know the larger silica disks and want a small format for your phone.
- You're looking for a small gift for someone who uses Tachyon at home.
Your phone is lying face down on the table, and on the back there's a small round disk, about the size of a large coin. That's what the 24 mm micro disk looks like for most people who own one. They stick it on once and then carry it wherever the phone goes, which is pretty much all day.
What it is
The micro disk is a scaled-down version of the silica disk. It's a silica wafer 24 mm across and 2.5 mm thick, sealed in a protective laminate. Size-wise it sits somewhere between a coin and a big coat button, so it doesn't get in the way on a phone and it fits in a wallet card slot too.
Unlike the large disk, this one is double-sided. You don't have to think about which side faces the phone when you stick it on. Tachyon says energy flows out of both sides.
The manufacturer sells it as the ULTRA Phone Disk. ULTRA is the name of Tachyon's newer line of disks, which according to the company go through a stronger version of its tachyonization process. What Tachyon means by that word is explained in What is a tachyon.
People put it on the phone for a simple reason: it's the one thing they have on them all day. Tachyon describes its disks as sources of coherent energy that help keep the body in balance, and for many people the phone disk is the easiest way to keep one close as part of their Tachyon routine.
The laminate is there for a practical reason. Silica is thin and brittle, and if the disk cracks, the laminate holds the pieces together. Tachyon says a cracked disk keeps working, as long as you leave it sealed.
How people use it
The most common spot is the back of a phone. It only takes a minute:
- Wipe the back of the phone or case so it's free of dust and grease.
- Place the disk in the middle, or wherever your hand and the camera won't cover it.
- Fix it with double-sided tape or an adhesive sticker. The manufacturer sells these separately, but ordinary thin double-sided tape works too.
- If your phone has a case, you can stick the disk to the inside of the case instead. That way nobody sees it.
The manufacturer also shows the disk on tablets, cordless phones, and other small devices you hold in your hand. People with several devices usually go for the two-piece or three-piece pack.
Some people don't put the micro disk on a phone at all and keep it in a wallet or trouser pocket instead. Others hold it in their palm for a short meditation in the evening and then put it back on the bedside table. It's small enough to move around depending on where you want it that day.
Who it suits
The micro disk suits people who want Tachyon with them without carrying anything extra. Your phone is always within reach anyway, so the disk comes along by itself. If you already use a larger silica disk at home, the micro disk is the travel version.
It's also one of the more affordable products in the range, so people often buy it first, or as a small gift. More products for your phone and car are in the Phone and car category.
Choosing a size
The 24 mm disk is the smallest and the best fit for a phone. If you want something bigger, say for a tablet or to wear on clothing, take a look at the 35 mm micro disk. That one is one-sided, though, so it matters which way you face it. For flat surfaces at home, like a fuse box or the fridge, there's the 7.5 cm silica disk. All sizes are in the Disks category.

Care
The laminated disk is fine with normal wiping using a dry or slightly damp cloth. Don't put it in water or the dishwasher. If you move it to a new phone, peel it off slowly and keep the laminate intact. There's more in the guide Caring for silica disks.
